Hot air ballooning has fascinated people for centuries.
The first successful balloon flight took place in France in 1783 when the Montgolfier brothers launched a balloon into the sky.
Not long after, ballooning became popular across Europe and eventually the United States. Early balloon flights were used for scientific exploration and even military observation.
Today, ballooning has evolved into a recreational adventure enjoyed by people around the world. While technology has advanced dramatically, the basic principle remains the same—warm air rising inside a balloon envelope allows the aircraft to float peacefully with the wind.
Flying in a hot air balloon today connects passengers with one of aviation’s most historic traditions.
